UWShas well-established links with Pakistan.
In 2009, the University was delighted to award an honorary doctorate to Dr Shamshad Akhtar, who holds a PhD in Economics from the University and was the former Governor of the Central Bank of Pakistan and is now Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations.
The University is currently home to a large number of Pakistani students, and we are delighted that you are considering joining them.
Pakistani Community at UWS
There is an established community of Pakistani students at UWSwho play an active role in many of the University鈥檚 social societies and sports clubs.
Additionally, the UWSPaisley Campus is just 10 minutes by train from Glasgow, which is home to a large South Asian community. This means that as one of our Pakistani students you can meet new people and make new friends from Scotland and other parts of the world.
